New Year, New Me (Day 49)

It’s the day of Leia’s birthday and I can’t believe how quickly she’s aged! It feels like just yesterday she was a little baby…





It’s also New Year’s Eve, so we have a double party and celebration today!
Salim is up first and gets started on French toast, Leia’s favourite breakfast



While Kate gets Josette up and ready for the day



And the family sit together to eat breakfast with the birthday girl, who has to resist the urge to open some presents!



But not for long, as she’s soon opening up the pile of presents from family and friends – she gets some new clothes, some new bedroom furniture and a few trinkets



And before long, it’s party time!



Leia has a great time dancing with her friends – the twins (Thomas and Tobias) and her friend from school. Fiona



The snacks go down well too



And Leia sits alongside her family and friends and enjoys her cookies



And before long it’s time to blow out the candles!



And Leia is a teenager! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEIA!



And here she is! This is her party outfit, but you’ll get to see her other outfits over time!



And her new bedroom, which is similar to her childhood bedroom other than a new bed and some décor, including plant lights, a make-up table, and some make-up and hair products on her dresser







Salim gives his daughter another gift from him and Kate, and she’s a little confused

Well, because the surprise gift for Leia is a kitten!



Leia decides to name the kitten Tiddles, and she instantly falls in love with him!



She thanks her parents for the amazing gift





Leia’s friend Julian pops over to wish her a happy birthday



And she greets her friend happily



The friends talk for a while, as the clock ticks towards midnight



And soon it’s time for the countdown…
5…. 4…. 3…. 2…. 1….

The family and friends celebrate the new year together



And it’s soon time for bed
Leia feeds Tiddles before heading to bed



And they fall asleep together – I can already tell they’re going to be the best of friends!

Well, a lot happened! Leia is now a teenager, we have a new kitten, and it’s the start of a new year for the Benali-Armstrongs!
