All About The Armstrongs: April 2019

It's a big day! Today, Josette will be bringing home a new member of the family and that can only mean one thing - pancakes for breakfast!

The mother and son sit down together to enjoy their breakfast and talk about the exciting day ahead

With some time before school, Noah decides to make some welcome home art for his new sister

Before heading out to school, excited to be returning home later to meet the new member of the family!

Here's what Noah made for his sister - how cute!

Before long it's time to go as Josette heads out to meet her new daughter

After some time bonding and some emotional goodbyes, it's time to return home

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the newest member of the family:

Penelope Jolene Armstrong

Josette plays dolls with her daughter as she gets settled in her new room

Before inviting some family over to meet Penny

Rita arrives to meet her best friend's daughter

Followed by Uncle Mateo, who Penny warms to quickly

The two get along like a house on fire as Mateo tells stories and jokes to his niece

Leia is thrilled to meet her new niece as she gives her a hug - Penny is very social and is loving all the attention she's getting!

Noah returns home from school at 3pm

And introduces himself to Penny

The family spend some time talking and bonding as they celebrate the arrival of Penny

While Noah is pulled quickly in to Penny's room to play dolls - he doesn't mind, he's happy to have a sibling to play with

As the rest of the family heads home, Josette makes dinner

Noah is appearing to be a bit of a troubled child - he's already on a D grade at school despite doing homework, and is now making a mess - could he be acting out because of the new addition?

Josette heads over to her son and expresses disappointment in him for acting out and getting bad grades

Over dinner, Josette talks to her son about his grades and tells him he has to improve them or get a tutor

So after dinner he gets his homework done

While Josette gives Penny her dinner

And reads her a story as she falls asleep for her first night in her new bed

Noah, having finished his homework, heads into the bathroom for a bath

And then it's time for bed for the family - it's been an exciting day for the Armstrong/Villareal household

It's the morning of Noah's first day of school and he's eating breakfast with his mother as she talks to him about what to expect on his first day of school

Feeling more confident after a chat with his Mum, Noah gives her a hug

And heads off!

Josette is still thinking over her decision to adopt, and calls in someone she knows will help with the decision

Her biological mother, Jolene, who gave her up for adoption as a baby because she was a teenager

Josette tells Jolene that she wants to bring a child into the family the way the Armstrongs adopted her, and wants her perspective as a birth parent

She explains the details of the adoption and that her hope was that Josette would be adopted by a loving family - so, any birth parent would be glad to have Josette adopt their baby

After getting all the advice she needs, Josette thanks Jolene for her advice and Jolene heads home

A little later, an adoption agent comes by to discuss the details and get the ball rolling on the adoption process

(side note: yes, this is a pet adoption agent. I wish this game had a proper adoption feature)

The agent asks Josette about her ideal adoption scenario

She explains that she was involved in an open adoption, and would be willing to adopt a child in that situation so that they could maintain a connection with their birth parents

After also explaining the details of her family situation, including Moses' death and her sibling's promise of support, the adoption agent confirms her as a candidate for adoption and even says that she thinks she knows the perfect family to match Josette up with

Josette walks the agent out

And then decides to get started on the nursery

She paints the walls and adds a rug

The child she's going to adopt is a baby girl, and so she paints the room pink!

Before long Noah returns home

And he enjoys a slice of apple pie

While his mother is working on a painting for the new child's bedroom

Noah has a quick bath

While Josette makes dinner

The two sit down to eat fish and chips together as Noah talks about his day of school - he didn't do especially well academically, but certainly made some friends!
